Romantic Comedy for the Holidays at Montgomery Theater "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" It's 1939, and the Levy/Freitag families live on one of Atlanta's finest streets and experience all the trappings and conveniences of wealth. However, they cannot change the fact that they are Jews who live in an overwhelmingly Christian society. This does not deter them from embracing mainstream southern society or from replicating discrimination within their own culture; German-Jews such as the Levys and Freitags look down on "the other kind" of Jews - Eastern European Jews. While deftly exploring this anti-Semitism, Uhry also intersperses his message with plenty of sparkling banter, romance and comedic non-sequiturs. Tony Award winner for Best Play. "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" is co-sponsored by Silverman Family Partnerships and the Phoneman, long time supporters of Montgomery Theater. MONTGOMERY THEATER 124 Main St. P.O.
