Mission
Founded in 1990, Theatre Ariel is Pennsylvania's only professional theater dedicated to illuminating the rich, social, cultural, and spiritual heritage of the Jewish people. We believe that Jewish theater strengthens Jewish identity while also serving as a bridge between people of all cultures. Theatre Ariel produces and commissions work that serves as a prism through which we can view the varied colors of the American Jewish experience. Our writers also create theater that draws its inspiration from ancient stories, bringing contemporary insight to classic Jewish texts: reflecting on the past, examining the present, and envisioning the future.

Description
Theatre Ariel produces an extensive Touring Repertoire, a Reading Series of new plays and at times Mainstage productions. Theatre Ariel's Touring Repertoire reaches out to children, teens, families and adults extensively throughout the Delaware Valley and from New York to Washington, DC. Theatre Ariel tours to schools, community centers, conferences, synagogues, as well as traditional and nontraditional performing venues. In addition to performances, Theatre Ariel serves as an educational theater resource through its improv troupe ARIELPROV, Youth Theater programs, Teacher Training workshops, and collaborations with the National Museum of American Jewish History. Through the Associate for Jewish Theatre, Theatre Ariel is part of an international network of Jewish Theatres and Theatre Artists.
